The Volunteer Fire Departments in Giles County present the 2019 New River Water Trail Fireman’s Poker Float on Saturday, June 22, 2019 starting at Whitt-Riverbend Park in Ripplemead, VA.

Schedule:

• 8:00-11:00 am: Day of Registration

• 8:30-11:30 am: Pre-Registered Participants Arrive

Support Eggleston, Newport and Pembroke Volunteer Departments. Join us for a day of fun on the water and see if your hand is the best all to win some great prizes while supporting three local volunteer fire departments!

Bring your own kayak or canoe or rentals will be available.

• Grand Prize: Jackson Big Rig Kayak ($1,600 value)

• Second Prize: 1 night, 1 day stay at New River’s Edge ($600 value)

2019 Mystic River Lavender Festival

It is time for a festival, the lavender is in full bloom and ready for you to enjoy. Enjoy the beauty of lavender and relax taking in the beautiful vistas Mystic River offers.

You can cut your own fresh lavender bundles, learn about Lavender (planting, growing, how to care of your plants, etc.), purchase several varieties of lavender plants as well as our line of lavender based body care products. We will have several other vendors on site (jewelry, blown glass, wood working, etc.) as well as a local food vendor.

Admission is free and attendees can cut your own fresh bouquet for $5.00.

Bring your lawn chairs, hats, and cameras. Please leave your four-legged friends at home.
